Wedding Cakes


Planning your wedding is such an exciting time and choosing the right wedding suppliers will help to take the stress away so you can enjoy the build up to your special day. I'm always so excited to meet couples to discuss, plan and design their perfect cake. I take great pride in creating beautiful, bespoke, elegant cakes with clean sharp edges and delicate, realistic sugar flowers for my lovely couples on their big days - for cakes that will wow your guests and be a stunning centrepiece at your reception. 


Wedding cakes are designed especially for you, so prices vary depending on many factors such as the intricacy of the design, details, finishes, number of flowers and flavours. You can see the starting price guide and average investments towards the end of this page which I hope is helpful.


Your wedding cake journey

Step 1

SECURE YOUR DATE

I will try my best to accommodate you but to ensure quality is never compromised, I limit the number of bookings I take for each week. It's always best to get in touch as soon as possible to secure your date - up to two years in advance. Once I confirm that I have availability to make your cake, you can save the date in my diary with a £100 non-refundable deposit.

Step 2

DESIGN CONSULTATION

Around 6 months before your wedding, we will meet for your cake consultation either in person in my home cake studio in Margate, or via Zoom. Usually by this time you will have a clear idea of your colour scheme, dress, bouquet, decor and other key elements of your day. We can then discuss the finishes and design elements that you like and build up an idea of what your cake will look like ensuring that it compliments and fits in with the look and feel of your day. You will also get to take away a cake tasting box with a selection of flavours to try.


Step 3

DESIGN CONFIRMATION

After your consultation, I will wait for you to confirm your flavour choices. I will then sketch your cake design and will send this to you along with a detailed description for you to approve. The description also includes the quote.


Step 4

DELIVERY & SET-UP

Once all the details of your cake are confirmed, the balance of your cake will be due one month before your wedding. On your wedding day, I will deliver and set-up your cake at your venue liaising directly with your venue  so you will have one less thing to think about.

I provide your venue with all the cake details including ingredients, allergens, decorations to remove and keep and anything else they need to know.




Consultations


Consultations are where we can discuss your wedding cake and determine the design of your cake as well as the flavours you would like for each tier of your cake. The consultation includes cake tasting for up to two people where you will be able to sample a selection of set flavours from the menu. 


You will need to have secured your wedding date in my diary with the deposit (booking fee) to ensure your date is booked. We can then work together to create a cake that complements your day perfectly.


Cake tasting boxes can be ordered (subject to availability) by couples who have not yet secured their date.

The cost is £30 and is deducted from the deposit (booking fee) upon securing your date with me. 

Postal tasting boxes are an additional £6 to cover P&P.

We use the finest ingredients so that our cakes taste as good as they look.

Classic Vanilla

Our signature sponge infused with organic vanilla bean extract, filled with vanilla frosting.

Raspberry & Vanilla

Our signature sponge infused with organic vanilla bean extract, filled with vanilla frosting and raspberry conserve.

Strawberry & Vanilla

Our signature sponge infused with organic vanilla bean extract, filled with vanilla frosting and strawberry conserve.

Zesty Lemon

Lemon infused sponge, drizzled with lemon syrup and filled with lemon buttercream and zesty lemon curd.

Lemon & Elderflower

Zesty lemon infused sponge, drizzled with lemon syrup and filled with lemon and elderflower buttercream.

Chocolate Fudge

Indulgent chocolate 

fudge sponge filled with our classic chocolate buttercream.

Chocolate Orange

Indulgent chocolate orange fudge sponge filled with zesty orange buttercream.

Lotus Biscoff

Vanilla sponge with hints of caramel filled with lotus biscoff infused buttercream

Cookies & Cream

Oreo and vanilla sponge filled with a mix of creamy buttercream and crushed oreos.

Carrot Cake

Sweet, spice infused carrot cake layers filled with buttercream.

Traditional Fruit Cake

Rich, traditional cake packed with fruit and flavoured with warm spices. Covered with marzipan before a layer of our finest fondant icing.


Our cakes are covered with Belgian white chocolate ganache, followed by professional fondant icing. 

*Please note that traditional fruit cakes are covered with marzipan followed by fondant icing.

We can modify our recipes to create bespoke cake flavours.


Pricing


Our cakes are individually designed and made to order so prices are dependent on factors such as flavours(s), design and size(s). We can incorporate dummy tiers into the design of your cake which

are perfect when catering for fewer guests and still creating a cake that has maximum impact for

your day.

The starting prices below are for all vanilla tiers, with plain white iced finish with ribbon edge. All design elements and finishes (e.g. ruffles, sparkles, sugar flowers, golf leaf, marbling etc), and flavour choices will have additional costs.  To help give you an idea of what your final designed cake may cost, see the average spend for each size cake:

 

2 tiers basic starting price from  £325 (average investment £375 – £450) 

3 tiers basic starting price from £495  (average investment £575 – £850+) 
4 tiers
basic starting price from £550  (average investment £775 – £1100+) 

5 tiers basic starting price from £750  (average investment £950 – £1350+) 


I will work with you at your design consultation to design a cake that fits the style of your wedding and also works to your budget.


Setup time (1hr) and mileage (10 miles total) is included, but please note mileage more than 10 miles is calculated at at 80p per mile (return trip to your venue) to cover expenses and travel time. Additional setup time for larger/more involved designs may be required and this will be detailed on your invoice if applicable.



Book your cake

To ensure quality is never compromised, I limit the number of bookings I take for each week, so it's best to get in touch as soon as possible to secure your date. 


Email miranda@prettypetalcake.co.uk to check availability for your date. A non-refundable deposit of £100 is required to secure your booking and date. The remaining balance will be due 4 weeks before your wedding. All tiered cakes are delivered and setup by me personally at your venue.


Paying the deposit is also your agreement to the Terms & Conditions which you can access at the bottom of this page - please ensure you have read them.
